Frustrations Abound
Ever heard the phrase "if it ain't broke don't fix it"? The square wheel on the young man's bicycle may not be broken but it definitely isn't very practical in fact it's downright frustrating. You may have equipment that works and team members willing to show up for duty, and both may not add to the quality and productivity of your program.
This lack of excellence and adequate training can only lead only to one thing, BAD sounding audio and/or bad looking video. Other factors adding to frustration can be a mixture of equipment malfunction, operator error, speaker placement or electrical issues, all of which can have a devastating affect on an otherwise pleasant worship experience. Not to worry, there is help. Don’t let your frustrations live on unaddressed. Support your media department by:
Send them to relevant conferences, seminars and workshops. If budgets are an issue (and they usually are) consider purchasing books, CDs, or DVDs that offer solutions to some of the audio issues your church may have.
Figure out creative ways to upgrade or purchase necessary equipment, the absence of which would negatively impact the service. Consider the possibility of crowd funding your upgrades.
Remember, your problems aren’t unique, and the longer you go refusing to fix an unbroken but not working situation means your frustrations will abound.
